The Big Picture Traveling Museum

Krista Conrick is an educator with three permanent New York State teaching certifications and a decade of classroom experience.  Krista loves curriculum writing and finding creative and unusual ways to get students to think.  She manages to bring many exciting, dramatic elements to her creations.    After leaving the field of education to stay at home and raise two children, Krista decided to reenter the world of education through a different route.  The Big Picture Traveling Museum was born from her desire to teach amazing lessons without the time and budget constraints that exist in a regular classroom setting.  The outcome of that desire is the creation of a highly creative hands-on learning environment in which children are active in fun critical thinking activities. Krista spent three years developing her The Dinosaur Museum during some rare down time while at home with her children.  Before making this exhibit available to the public, she did a dry run show at our local children's school to work out any kinks.  That first presentation went very well and she has since presented in a number of other area schools.  Realizing how educationally beneficial this museum presentation is, she has decided to begin creating her second traveling exhibit, Earth Rocks, which takes a creative look at how the earth was formed.  Like the The Dinosaur Museum, this new exhibit is chock full of exciting hands-on activities for elementary and middle school aged children.  A third traveling museum presentation will focus on Shakespeare for high school students and is currently in development.
